About this event
Begun in 1998 in Daehangno under the name "Independent Arts Festival," the Seoul Fringe Festival brings together, every summer, a wide range of artistic experiments — theater, dance, music, performance, film, visual arts, exhibitions, and works that defy any single genre.
There is no jury for artists and no critique of works. Believing that "anyone can be an artist," it leaves the door open for all to participate. Whether on a stage, in a park, or any space at all, it supports and cheers on every story someone wants to tell and every attempt they want to make. Through the courage to reveal oneself, experiments that cross genre boundaries, and a process of sharing responsibility and respect, we build true artistic freedom.
This year, under the slogan "the fact that we are together," the festival seeks to discover new ways of connecting that we need right now.
