King Sejong the Great and Chojeong Mineral Water Festival

The festival commemorates the historical fact that King Sejong the Great stayed at the Chojeong Temporary Palace and treated his diabetes and eye disease with Chojeong mineral water for 120 days, during which he accomplished his great achievements in statecraft and the creation of Hangeul. In doing so it reilluminates the value of King Sejong the Great and Chojeong mineral water and widely promotes the historical and scientific excellence of Chojeong mineral water, one of the world's three rare mineral waters. By spreading awareness of Cheongju's clean natural environment and the value of its health resources at home and abroad, it lays the groundwork to grow into a world-class cultural tourism festival, and building on the festival's achievements over the past 20 years, it aims to establish itself as a signature brand festival representing Cheongju.
