Korea Youth Day Festival (10th)

Korea Youth Day originated in a youth-commemoration event proposed and led by the incorporated association "Youth and the Future," and is now a national statutory anniversary. Since 2016, Youth and the Future has held a Youth Day commemoration every September to build public support for designating it a statutory anniversary and to raise national concern for youth rights — and since 2017 it has used "Korea Youth Day Festival" as the official name, developing it into a leading national youth festival.

Then, on January 9, 2020, the Youth Basic Act — which designates Youth Day as a statutory anniversary — passed the National Assembly, and Youth Day was set as a statutory anniversary on the third Saturday of September each year. The Korea Youth Day Festival is held to spread the meaning of Youth Day, expand youth participation in society, promote youth rights, and enliven youth culture.

This year, marking the 10th Youth Day, the 10th Korea Youth Day Festival is held around Gwangalli in Busan, one of Korea's top tourist spots. The festival runs programs spanning many youth fields — youth-policy promotion, culture and arts, jobs and start-ups, performances, hands-on experiences, and the content industry — and through a rich lineup including a K-POP concert, a university song festival, the Korea Youth Dream Gala Concert, the Youth Film Awards, the Korea Cheerleading Championship, and the Creator Awards, it becomes a flagship national youth festival where youth and citizens communicate and take part together.
