Hongjueupseong Fortress was the center of Hongju-mok during the Joseon dynasty and is Hongseong's flagship national heritage site, home to the history of the Battle of Hongju Castle and the Hongju Righteous Army. By night, its beautiful illumination offers a special charm quite different from the daytime.
The 2026 Hongseong National Heritage Night Walk, "Hongjueupseong, Holding Secrets," is a festival that activates the national heritage site, letting you experience its history and the value of its heritage anew through performance, hands-on activities, exhibitions, and media content.
In particular, the distinctive lighting and nighttime staging you can only see during the Night Walk reveal another side of Hongjueupseong, while history-themed performances, heritage experiences, and local food let visitors of all ages enjoy the fortress's history and culture with ease and delight.
