About this event
The festival information below is from the previous year's festival (2025); 2026 details are being updated.
Now in its 30th year, the Gangdong Prehistoric Culture Festival is the only Seoul festival themed around the prehistoric era. It showcases the historical value of prehistoric heritage sites while boasting a variety of programs through which visitors can experience the lives of prehistoric people. This year, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the Amsa-dong heritage site in Seoul, it is organized under the theme "6,000 Years of Breath, 100 Years of Light, 30 Years of Resonance" into separate spaces themed around the four elements: water, fire, earth, and wind. Each space is tailored to the characteristics of its material, with productions, diverse exhibitions and experiences, nighttime programs, delicious food, and colorful performances that fill the festival's three days, offering visitors a special pleasure that moves between past and present.
