Jeju Flounder Festival

Held every October since 2016, the Jeju Flounder Festival is Korea's only event dedicated to the flounder, promoting wider enjoyment of Jeju farmed flounder and its outstanding quality. A rich variety of flounder dishes — sashimi and sushi as well as fish cake, tteokbokki, and green onion pancakes — are served at affordable prices, spreading the taste and quality of Jeju flounder far and wide. As Jeju's signature seafood festival, it offers flounder dishes raised with care by the farming co-op's members at generous prices, drawing warm praise from residents and visitors alike. Programs such as the Jeju Flounder Singing Contest, a youth dance competition, a children's drawing contest, and bare-handed flounder and sole catching give residents, tourists, and children alike plenty to join in and enjoy.
