Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival

The Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Cultural Festival is held in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, around the life, thought, and Silhak (practical learning) spirit of Jeong Yak-yong. The 40th festival takes place on October 17 and 18, 2026, around the Jeong Yak-yong historic sites and Dasan Ecological Park. Its main programs include a flower offering and tea ceremony, an opening ceremony, a 40th-anniversary special fashion show and commemorative concert, a Jeong Yak-yong robot-building contest, and a literary contest. On the 17th, a special fashion show by designer Lie Sang Bong is planned, and on the 18th a commemorative concert featuring Eokss, Park Hye-won, and Urban Zakapa. Hands-on programs include 'Yeoyudang Hunters,' a mission-based treasure hunt around the venue, a 'digital detox exile experience,' the 'Dasan Future Workshop' where visitors encounter artificial intelligence and robots, and traditional games and hanbok try-ons. Beyond these, busking performances and markets run at Dasan Ecological Park, making the festival a place to enjoy Jeong Yak-yong's history and culture together with performances and hands-on experiences.
