Sejong Hangeul Festival

Held since 2013 on the founding spirit of Hangeul, King Sejong the Great’s crowning achievement, the festival was renamed from “Sejong Festival” to “Sejong Hangeul Festival” in 2025. With performances, exhibitions, and hands-on programs that reinterpret the beauty and creativity of Hangeul in a contemporary key, it is run as a festival that people of all ages and nationalities can relate to and enjoy. It sets a stage where the passion of artists, the smiles of citizens, and the excitement of visitors come together, and presents a rich lineup of content in which Hangeul becomes both art and play. Through festival programs that blend tradition and modernity, it is growing into a distinctive cultural tourism festival found only in Sejong, where the charm of Hangeul and the spirit of King Sejong can be experienced in a park in the heart of the city.
