Korea's only festival dedicated to Hangeul, it is held annually in Sejong to commemorate Hangul Day. Founded in 2013 on the founding spirit of Hangeul, King Sejong the Great's outstanding achievement, it was renamed from "Sejong Festival" to "Sejong Hangeul Festival" in 2025. Through performances, exhibitions, and hands-on programs that reinterpret the beauty and creativity of Hangeul in a contemporary way, it is run as a festival that people of all ages and nationalities can relate to and enjoy. It has grown into Sejong's own distinctive cultural tourism festival, where diverse cultural and arts programs blending tradition and modernity let visitors easily and enjoyably experience the charm of Hangeul and the spirit of King Sejong in the heart of the city.
