Busan Comprehensive Folk Arts Festival

The 6th Busan Comprehensive Folk Arts Festival is a traditional culture festival hosted by Busan Metropolitan City that introduces the city's intangible heritage and traditional folk culture through performances and hands-on experiences. It takes place on October 24 and 25, 2026 at Dasom Plaza in Busan Citizens' Park, welcoming both Busan residents and visitors. The program is built around three spaces: Pungnyu Madang centered on performances, Somssi Madang centered on hands-on experiences, and Janchi Madang centered on participation programs. Pungnyu Madang hosts the opening ceremony, intangible heritage performances from Busan and other regions, performances by transmission schools, global performances, special shows, and citizen participation programs. Somssi Madang offers experiences in craftsmanship and performing-arts intangible heritage, traditional culture craft making, traditional food, and cultural heritage care. Janchi Madang features a traditional games zone, the Busan Intangible Heritage Art Fair, a traditional craft market held in connection with Hanbok Culture Week, a stamp tour and wish-paper writing, and hanbok rental with traditional accessory experiences. The festival is designed so that visitors can encounter Busan's intangible heritage and traditional culture both by watching performances and by joining participatory experiences.
