The Gwangju Seochang Silvergrass Festival is an ecological festival held every October along the Yeongsan River in the heart of the city. Walking among the sunsets over the Seochang fields, one of the eight scenic sights of Gwangju's western district, and along the silvery silvergrass paths, visitors can savor the mood of autumn in nature. The 11th Gwangju Seochang Silvergrass Festival, themed a journey into autumn guided by the silvery silvergrass, runs for four days from October 15 to 18, 2026, around the Yeongsan River Bicycle Path Information Center. On the festival grounds, stroll-and-listen content abounds: a silvergrass path lined with flowing melodies, the SG silvergrass-field lounge with LP music, a soundscape, and sound-walk map making. Visitors can also join participatory programs such as Find the King of Rest, Sunset 5:30, and the Silvergrass Walking Adventure, alongside the 2026 Gwangju Seochang Silvergrass Sunset Marathon and dog-friendly walking programs. Centered on silvergrass, sunsets, music, and walks, it is western Gwangju's flagship autumn eco-festival, designed for rest and hands-on enjoyment in nature.
