About this event
Hanbok Culture Week is a nationwide hanbok culture event held every year in the third week of October to share the beauty of the hanbok, a garment rich in Korean style and tradition, and to spread a culture of wearing hanbok in everyday life. Its slogan is Modern Hanbokpan, the Center of K-Culture. Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Crafts and Design Foundation, the week presents a colorful lineup of hanbok culture at key locations across the country, including fashion shows, performances, commendations for hanbok enthusiasts, and hands-on experiences, and this year it grew into a cultural festival anyone can enjoy, with around 330 participating venues nationwide. Special events in overseas hubs such as Hong Kong, New York, and Berlin also share the beauty of hanbok with the world, while the 'Characters Wear Hanbok' online campaign featuring six mascot characters from local governments across Korea and an art-balloon exhibition offer friendlier ways to enjoy hanbok. As the slogan of the 2025 Hanbok Culture Week suggests, we hope it becomes a meaningful time to share the beauty and value of hanbok in this golden age of Korean culture.
