About this event

The 2026 Republic of Korea Science Festival with Jeonbuk Science Festival is a science festival prepared so that the residents of Jeonbuk can experience ‘Physical AI’, the province’s future industry, firsthand.

The event takes place over three days, from October 16 to 18, 2026, at the main sports field of Jeonju University and at Harim Mission Hall.

Under the theme ‘A world in motion, a new future opened by Physical AI!’, the festival is structured so that AI is not confined to technology on a screen but can be experienced as technology that actually moves and operates in the real world, through robots, sensors, and more.

Linked with the national science festival, the event brings together national science museums, leading research institutes from outside the province, and universities, with expanding residents’ opportunities to enjoy science culture as its main direction.

It presents research results from cutting-edge science and technology fields such as AI, bio, energy, and mobility as hands-on content tailored to the eye level of children, teenagers, and residents in general. It is also a participatory science festival: in cooperation with the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education, elementary, middle, and high schools across the province run experience booths of their own and help shape visitor events everyone can join.

The main programs comprise the opening ceremony, the presentation of the Jeonbuk Science and Technology Person of the Year and Student Science Invention awards, themed exhibitions, and science and technology experiences and performances. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education, and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, Jeonbuk Technopark, and the Jeonbuk Science Culture Hub Center.
