Wonju National Heritage Night Walk

The 2026 Wonju National Heritage Night Walk, held under the slogan "Wonju Gwanchalsa, Observer of History: Watching the History of Wonju," presents the beautiful night scenery of national heritage sites alongside a colorful program of events themed on '8 Nights.' The festival runs for three days from Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6, 2026, centered on national heritage sites around the Gangwon Gamyeong compound, including the Gangwon Gamyeong, Won-dong Cathedral, and the former Joseon Siksan Bank. This year's edition is built around the history and people of Wonju, with three key themes — righteous-army commander Min Geung-ho, Governor Songgang Jeong Cheol, and Queen Inyeol — whose historical significance and stories are introduced through a variety of programs. Through them, the festival offers citizens and visitors rich sights to see and experiences to join, bringing the history and culture of Wonju within closer reach.
