While most festivals are staged with cities alone in mind, the Rural Madanggeuk Grand Festival began as an arts festival for local residents in rural areas with little access to culture, and has since grown into a festival that city dwellers seek out as well. A gathering place where people come together, find room to breathe in their lives, soothe their hearts, and share laughter and joy, the Rural Madanggeuk Grand Festival is a celebration in which artists and every visitor who comes to the festival join together in the madang to enjoy a wide variety of traditional performance and play.
