Art Gwangju is the largest international art fair in the Honam region, surveying the currents of contemporary art and the trends of the art market from Korea and abroad all in one place. It is a venue where galleries, artists, and collectors from home and overseas gather to present their work, discover new artistic value, and exchange ideas, and it serves as a hub of cultural and artistic exchange connecting Gwangju and Jeollanam-do with the global art world. The fair is hosted by Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City and organized by the Gwangju Cultural Foundation and Art Gwangju.
Art Gwangju 26 brings together around 110 galleries from 12 countries in Korea and abroad, including the Middle East and Europe, presenting the diverse currents of contemporary art across painting, sculpture, media art, and more. In particular, the special exhibitions 《Heroes of Contemporary Art》, 《Propose》, 《Rising Star》, and 《Spectrum》 introduce a broad selection of carefully curated artworks, pieces from regional collectors' holdings, and works by young artists from Gwangju and Jeollanam-do, expanding the fair's value as an exhibition.
Beyond an art market where works are simply bought and sold, Art Gwangju aims to be an international stage of cultural and artistic exchange where the value of art and new creative work are discovered and the region meets the world, broadening the base of the arts in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do and laying the groundwork for continued growth.
