Gangbuk Baekmaek Festival

First held in 2023 and now established as Gangbuk-gu's flagship festival, the Baekmaek Festival is a gathering where people of all ages come together, linking the beautiful waterside resources of Uicheon Stream with the local commercial district and young entrepreneurs in step with Seoul's plan to turn its waterways into scenic destinations, including the newly completed riverside terrace observatory. Instead of stages centered on famous singers, it presents varied busking and performances created through the teamwork of local artists and residents, and it expands the space for traditional-market foods and craft beer to help small merchants open new sales channels. It is a meaningful festival that lays the foundation for Uicheon Stream to grow into a permanent night market and a waterside cultural space where culture flows.
