About this event
Marking its 10th anniversary this year, the Wonju Rooftop Film Festival is a non-competitive, free film festival planned by Wonju's young people to offer the city chances to enjoy independent art films — otherwise scarce there — on rooftop venues across Wonju on summer nights. Aiming also to nurture local film communities and activity personnel, the opening program 'Gangwon Short Film Selection' will screen and introduce works by directors from across the province. From reviewing and selecting the films to planning side programs, choosing venues and running booths, the festival is planned around audience (citizen) activists, carrying meaning as a 'community cinema' with citizens at its center.
