Gaya Theme Park Light Festival: A Voyage Toward the Light

The sea route that Queen Heo sailed 2,000 years ago from the Indian kingdom of Ayuta to Gaya comes alive again in brilliant light. The 3rd Gimhae Light Festival 'A Voyage Toward the Light,' running August 14 to 23, 2026 at Gimhae Gaya Theme Park, presents the story of departure, voyage and meeting with Gaya through light sculptures, illuminations, media art and photo zones. Walking the path of light that evokes the blue sea and the night sky, visitors meet the special bond between Gaya and India. Weekends and holidays add a local food zone, an art market of regional creators, and outdoor concerts of jazz, fusion gugak and acoustic music. The opening ceremony on August 15 features ogo-mu (five-drum dance), a K-POP troupe performance and a multimedia fireworks show of some 3,000 shells painting the night sky. The festival runs without rest days from 5:20 PM to 10 PM; last admission is 9 PM and admission is 2,000 won per person. A special summer night of Gimhae, where light, history, performance, food and art come together.
